Started by Oliver Russell, a Boise based marketing agency, and Humanista, a social purpose consultancy, PlasticWorks is an imaginative, community-based model for how we can and must rethink business.
Inspired by the open-source plans from Precious Plastic, PlasticWorks Boise is housed in a shipping container outside Corridor Surf Shop and will offer demonstrations, a collection site, and volunteer opportunities for interested community members.
WE CAN'T DO IT ALONE
Working with community partners, PlasticWorks is a for-profit business that expects to make money and leave a positive impact on society through upcycling plastics.
Plastic is everywhere, and less than 10% of it is recycled in the United States. Part of the problem with the status quo of plastics is that 40% is designed for single use. PlasticWorks will collect our community’s plastic and create imaginative new products for sale.
